Inkstone Architecture - Missoula, Montana

About Us

Inkstone Architecture is a full service architectural design practice. Started in 2001 to fill a need for contemporary architecture in Missoula Montana, Inkstone Architecture strives to create sensitive modern architecture. We are concerned with sustainability, energy use and reuse in each project we design. To insure this responsibility to the built environment we are pursuing LEED certification for the firm. We will always remain a small firm, where creative ideas are the focal point of our architectural endeavors. Our practice fundamentals are based on years of both urban and rural projects involving both new construction and renovation projects. We try to balance the needs, dreams and budgets of our clients to achieve the best design possible.

Owner, John R. Paoli AIA, graduated from Montana State University in 1978 and spent 12 years in various small and large firms in New York City learning the craft of architecture and adaptive building reuse. In 1990 he opened a practice in Westport, Connecticut which focused on commercial and residential work. He moved back to his home state of Montana in 1995 and chose Missoula to relocate his practice. Inkstone Architecture maintains licensure in Montana, New York and Connecticut.
